teabreak, v.2 organized anarchy

a poster that I painted a while ago, from a book that some of you may know as tfios, and some as aia.
It's been over twenty days, and, for the most part, my resolution is still going strong. Sometimes I just can't wait to write. I've found that writing down all that I write in my head has helped me think more clearly. It's kind of like when, one week, our Mathcounts coach made us write nice neat papers with a separate line for every equation, showing all of our work. I was groaning by the time that I finished reading the instructions... but to my surprise, it actually helped me solve the problems. I am not a very organized person. True, this blog seems neat, but, say, my notebook (which I wrote this in originally), is anarchy in it's most beautiful form It is all of my thoughts, everything I write in my head, all mixed together. Come to think of it, my mind is anarchy. But then- it is a very interesting question about how to classify anarchy versus organization. There is  a game that I used to (aka, still do, but don't particularly want to say that on my blog) play, in which I would run up and down the staircases of my house, grabbing random objects, and then, I would return to the living room and begin to create what I called "creative messes". Basically, a pattern- not always symmetrical, just piles of things that looked appealing to the eye. Organized or anarchy? You'll meet plenty of organized people who say that it's like an art- color coding, so on. And artsy people who are perfectionists in the "everything-in-its-place" category. But then there are also people (like me), who'll say that art=messiness and vice versa. The way that I see it, there's a certain neatness to complete anarchy- isn't that what constitutes as art? My point here is, don't be afraid of oxymorons or cliches. All they are doing is limiting your way of expressing yourself. Life is an oxymoron. Everyday traditions can be more anarchic than new things every day.

P.S. I'm listening to the recording of the vlogbrothers at Carnegie Hall..... best. thing. ever. Darcy and Lizzie reading TFiOS as Gus and Hazel <3

teabreak v. i

2013 has found me here, (Ah, but where can we call that? I have already informed you that I am residing in 2013, and among the living, as might have been assumed by minds that have not yet been taught never to assume- but where concretely? I suppose that is one of the questions we have yet to answer in the moment.) sitting in the middle of a snow covered path- specifically in a depression, most likely caused by some youth ambitious enough to attempt to sled through our wet packing snow, probably back in 2012. My thoughts entering this year have all been of adventure- a great perhaps, perhaps… Alas, none such is in store for me this year. I shall, of course, continue living as I have, hiding behind this mask, writing these words, building my everyday life. And, perhaps, there is a sense of certain adventure to that- to be creating what is to be common and taken for granted in the future and yet is new and changeable currently.

I wish, however, that, someday, my life could be just a series of poems; the screwed up kind      with the weird grammar      and       run on sentences; freestyle.

Perhaps it is; perhaps it will be.

So, as I sit in, the likely most cliché spot I could have picked, (snow, bright sun, footsteps but not a soul around, towering trees etc. etc.) I welcome 2013 with the most open of arms.

I leave you with my new motto.

"You can't force your creativity out of it's shell- but you can bribe it out with tea."

Happy New Year!
 Nina.
