Chicago. Oh, gosh, I go there so often and yet not often enough... *it's only/a whole two hours drive* these are photographs from my birthday trip this weekend.

"craftandcreate" was thought up by me a long time ago, for my blog, which was then called *cough cough* "Creativity," and it never really fit after I switched the name to Sunlit. The new URL, "with open eyes now" is also a MBS reference...

A Very Thankful Birthday

So... I turned 13. Wow, I feel as though I should have deep thoughts to share on this matter, but... my age is just kind of there. For once, I'm sitting here, unable to find a thought to share at all, blogging just to be blogging.

Anyway, we're embarking (love that word) on a trip to Chicago Saturday, and my sister is coming with us (she lives at University, if you guys didn't know. In NJ. Halfway across the country)

How is your Monday going?

First Snow

Today's election day, and, just like Hank Green (click for livestream tonight), I'm super nervous.

Beyond that, however, today was our first snow. Yesterday, I took a procrastination break from my NaNoNovel, to go take pictures and...... ack, compare those (the last two) to the first two, which are what I woke up two. Gosh.

Concerning the Election

Today, I have not been writing at all, and instead, I've spent my time watching ALL of the electoral specials.

First off, if you are an American, and over age, by all means, VOTE. I don't care who you vote for (lie, I do care; I mean that I'm not telling you to vote for Obama (or Romney or Jill Stein), I'm just saying that, in general, you should vote)  Somehow, I highly doubt that anyone will be reading this who can vote and hasn't/isn't planning to tomorrow, but if you are, please take a moment to familiarize yourself with all of the wonderful news articles/blog posts/YouTube videos on why you should vote, none of which I will be creating today, as I am well aware that this is thew internet and I'm twelve and nothing that I say will change anyone's opinions.

Anyway, the image above is a map of how the votes are approximately spread, from 270towin.com; with CO, NV, IA, WI, MI, OH, PA, VA, NC, NH and FL. You may notice, if you've been following the election either at school or at home, that two states that where formerly leaning Obama are now Undecided on this map: Pennsylvania and Michigan. Strangely, while RealClearPolitics shows them the same (toss-up) way, The New York Times and CNN still show them leaning Obama. Now that early voting has ended (and now that the election is tomorrow) some of the maps are no longer counting leaning states; Obama winning 243 to 206 if you count them; only 201 to 191 if you don't.

So, keeping in mind these leaning states, the ways the states voted in 2008, and the party of the governors, I came up with this map. You should note that this was created by me and is not entirely accurate.

2012 Presidential Election: Electoral Map.

This map, to my surprise (and horror) results in a tied 269, which would (for those of you who never went over this in school) results in The House (currently mostly Republican) selecting the president and The Senate (currently mostly Democratic) selecting the Vice President.

Basically; if my prediction map is true, our president will be Romney, and our VP will be Biden.

If you want to create your own map of predictions, you can either use 270towin, by clicking on the states that you want to change, until their color matches your prediction, or on the NYTimes, by clicking "Make Your Own Scenarios" and then dragging the Undecided States to various sides of the screen.

another late night rant

It's 1 AM where I am, and I'm almost at my goal of 6667 words (I'm at 6010)

Gosh.

Tonight has been a roller coaster ride.

I started killing off a character.

Then, somehow, that charactor became a love interest for another character.

So,  basically, my book is turning into a John Green novel (which, by the way, I love, but get really depressed from)

I actually.... cried for a while about my book? It's so weird how, if you've read TFiOS, picture how you felt when *I won't say for the sake of spoilers* now imagine you're the authour. My book is multiple perspective, so I've written as the dying character, and the person in love with the dying character.

As I'd say on tumblr, THE FEELS!

NaNoWriMo Write All Night 2012 #1

It is time to unveil my newest project...... The NaNoWriteAllNight. I probably should have revealed this earlier, but such is my brain that I didn't think of that.

Anyway, here's how it works:

Today and next Saturday, you'll set yourself a word goal for the night, and start writing at either 9, 10 or 11. Already written today's 1667? All the better for you! You're writing a novel in a month! You need all of the getting ahead possible! (I'm working on getting Thanksgiving/My Birthday (same day) off)

If you started writing at 9, you need will desperately try to write until at least 2, unless you reach your word goal first. If you started at 10, until at least 3, etc.

At the end of the night, if you're still alive, try to write a blog post about your experience torture.

If you stayed alive, I'd love to know what kind of dark magic that required.

If you didn't, you're off the hook.
